I have no idea how old I was, but the interest in knitting was big at young age. I inherited my mother's Knitax, which in my eyes was "useless", in 1979. After a few years I bought a punch card machine, and then I was sold. After this, when the electronic machines came, I have been using these ones. The first knitting machine I bought, has been sold . The patterns on punch cards is limited to 24 of the report in the width...
In the first years I was interested in subjects with local ties, and I guess I still am. “Rallaren”, a laborer with pick and shovel, which applied for a job where there was development going on, was the first thing I was drawing/ cutting out on the punch card. I have one sweater left with this design, but how many there were sold and knitted? No, I have no idea. Sweaters were sold through a network, and there were others who knitted these. I only got royalties, as they say...
